Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival - Promotional Projection
In October 2007 I was invited to co-ordinate and implement a 5 minute promotional motion piece for this year’s Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. The piece was produced on behalf of Live:lab and my brief was to capture the essence of this internationally recognised event and to convey a disjointed presence within the piece.

RE:SCOOP
As part of my studio project in 2007, my open brief was to implement a project referring to the letters ‘RE’. In response, I chose ‘RE:’; in association with email subject lines, and began to look into email marketing and the methods companies use to advise clients on how they market using emails. I found that the results of these studies were presented in tabular format, and so I developed this application entitled ‘RE:SCOOP’ as a way of visualising and interacting with the one of these data studies visually.
I was also interested in how data can be filtered to allow a user to manage the data that is applicable to them, hence the ability to ‘SCOOP’!
Note that this application was developed as a prototype with a limited supply of data, however I feel the app has the potential to expand into a usable resource on a wider scale if more data were available.
I feel this project extensively developed my ActionScript 2 development skills. All the data is fed dynamically via xml and all animation and interaction is driven using code. Click the image below to launch the app.
